Conan gone and Leno back in. What a disgusting way to run a railroad at NBC.

What matters to me is the fact a man lost his job, his contract was broken after he had relocated his family. That is the injustice in this! That is my concern.

Before you go feeling sorry for Conan that he's unemployed and homeless- NBC is paying him $3million to walk away!!!:boohoo::boohoo::boohoo:

I think it's pretty insulting to suggest someone who is older has to give up the job because of age. Leno isn't even at retirement age yet. So, please, enough with "be carried out on a stretcher..." Age discrimination is not even legal.

I don't think that was a slap about his age. I think it means that he'll never relinquish the hosting job as long as he's alive.

Leno was just been nice back in 2005. He could have whined about having to give up his job, but he was being nice as if he was happy to do it. Nbc told him they want to do it, and he was being gracious about it.

If he wanted more than a five year contract he should have held out for it. NBC didn't want to lose Conan and now they have.

It was Jay's agent Helen Kuchnik who planted the Johnny is retiring story in the media. She was a major push in getting Carson to retire. If you want to talk about people being pushed out it was Carson. JMO

That is very true, however, The Tonight Show was his life-long dream, I don't believe any amount of money can make up for losing your life long dream. IMO.

As is was Jay's, and Jay was the one NBC forced out, Jay wasn't the one who wanted to make the move. He is a good sport and does whatever the network asks of him. He doesn't deserve all the sniping he's gotten. Welcome back Jay!

And actually it turned out to be closer to $45million!

Conan and Jay should have gotten together and told NBC to stick it. They were both treated badly but I respect Conan more for not giving in to them. At least he got some cash out of them :)

I won't be watching Leno or Letterman. I'll patiently wait for my Coco to come back.

NBC can own the bear (I never really found that funny), but I'm going to miss some of the others, especially Triumph.

I say get Conan for Simon's place on AI. :thumb:

Yeah, sometimes Triumph went a little overboard. Wonder if he'll pop up anywhere else since Conan won't be able to have him on any show he's on?

I think he deserves some sniping. For whatever reason he said he was going to give up his show in 2009. Whether he was forced out by the network or not, he gave up the rights to the show. Really he shouldn't mind, I am sure he was paid a lot and was being paid a lot for his new primetime show..... so he was happy.... and didn't complain. Well, come all this talk of ratings and switching around and blah blah blah.... he starts complaining. Jay could of easily backed down and said, no.... I do not want to move back to late night and I am not going to add an half an hour/Hour show before the tonight show, because it would push eveyone elses show back. No, Jay said nothing.... which I think speaks volumes in and of itself. For me, I don't care. I think, like others have said, Conan will be better suited on another network where he can do his crazy skirts. I just think Jay Leno could of handled the matter a little bit better and him going on Oprah to now plead his case..... what a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Yah, Conan was rude about things, but he was bitter.
