Seriously, I’ve been following this case since it first happened. I remember refreshing my computer every day in 2012 hoping there would be news on her.

This is gross and sad for her family. I hate that this creep has managed to garner so much plausible deniability for himself because he hid her super well. 😐
Same!!

I’ve long thought the monster put her in a dumpster and Sierra’s remains ended up at the Kirby Canyon Landfill.

I have zero hope GT will ever tell the truth, I still remember his arrogance in the courtroom during the last trial. I fantasized about how that sneer could be wiped off his face.

With advancements in DNA they should take a look at all of the evidence again and use it against him in the retrial. They can also use AI to enhance the video they had of his car and other evidence.

I feel so conflicted about the argument that bringing in the past kidnappings prejudiced the jury. Don’t they always say that the best predictor of future behavior is to look at past behavior? Patterns are important, IMO, when it comes to escalating behavior.

When I watch trials I am often irritated at things that become inadmissible that seem like important pieces of the pie when trying to determine someone’s capacity for bad things. It conflicts me because I can see both sides of the argument, but how do you draw the line?

I’ve followed Sierra’s case since the beginning. This happened not too far from where I used to live and I recall wishing I could join the searches (but was recovering from back surgery). I have continued to think and wonder about her through the years.

This new development really gets to me!

NEED TO KNOW

  • A California court has reversed the conviction of the man found guilty of the 2012 kidnapping and murder of 15-year-old Sierra LaMar, opening the door for him to receive a new trial
  • On Friday, Feb. 27, the state's Sixth District Court of Appeals overturned the judgment for 34-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres, who was originally sentenced to life without the possibility of parole
  • LaMar disappeared on her way to Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill, Calif., on the morning of March 16, 2012

It is so distressing that criminals/killers get amazing systems to get through the little holes they've crawled into.
I hope the prosecution offers him a lesser sentence rather than making the family go through another trial;
but what I really wish would have been death row and done last year.

Anyways... I have added a new sub-album to the Sierra LaMar Case Archives.
