After watching the Netflix series I realized halfway through that the sketches of the zodiac killer and D.B Cooper look quite similar. When comparing the timelines too, after he sent the cipher with his name in it, it was exactly 1 year 7 months and 4 days that the D.B Cooper incident took place. It is also quite odd if you assume the “D” in D.B cooper stands for Daniel. If this is the case, there are exactly 13 letters in Daniel B Cooper which is the exact number that is found in the unsolved cipher. It has exactly 13 icons/letters in it. This is all speculation of course, but there is some correlation between the two, and doesn’t seem too far fetched. Maybe he feared the police would crack the cipher and found out it was him who committed the murders. As a finale act, he decides to drive to Oregon, which is around 13-14 hour drive from San Francisco. From there he takes a flight that was going to Seattle Washington at the time. I also found it odd that he too threatened the use of a bomb just like zodiac killer did in one of his letters. His identity too has remained a mystery. This also an odd coincidence because both the zodiac killer and D.B Cooper were never identified. I also find it odd how close together the events take place between the murders and the flight hijacking. I understand that both the men’s crimes are quite different, but maybe the zodiac was scared to get caught, therefore he opted to hijack a plane, steal the money and go into hiding. Maybe he thought if he hijacked a plane instead of robbing a bank he could more easily have gotten away with the robbery because it’s not a common thought to rob a plane. Most people think of robbing a bank or different means of stealing. Both men seemed to be intelligent, calculated in their actions, and had everything well planned out in their crimes. Again, this is all speculation and just my thoughts on the two cases.
