Council installs ‘pee paint’ to give Soho drinkers relieving themselves in public ‘a nasty surprise’

Drinkers in Soho who relieve themselves in public are being warned they will be hit with a “nasty surprise” thanks to Westminster City Council’s newly installed ‘pee paint’.

The paint, which is being sprayed onto walls in London’s famous night-life area, creates a water-repellent layer so that urine and other liquid bounces back onto anyone who decides to urinate in public, “leaving them soaked”, the council said.

Westminster City Council is installing the pee paint in the worst affected areas in Soho as the party season kicks off ahead of Christmas, with five further locations to be painted in the new year.

If you check a map of that area of London, you will see there are public toilets. Also urinating against a wall addresses an obvious male need. Not too many women can aim that high or would urinate against a wall to begin with. It's a disgusting and unhygienic habit. I'm glad they're trying something unusual to discourage people.

I agree. There are public toilets available, it's not like these men have no other option but to wring their hands and urinate against a wall. It's uncouth and unhygienic behavior. JMO

Just think about all the millions in tax dollars they requested/received for pee gate and the tiny fraction of it they actually used to accomplish the mission. Some prominent people are pocketing alot of money.
