Someday, cranberries may be right there along with the fluoride in our toothpaste.

Actually, it's the distinct compounds found inside the berries that may help prevent tooth decay.

Research at the University of Rochester Medical Center found the powerful weapon against bladder infections could also help protect teeth against cavities.

The chemistry of cranberry makes it act like Teflon for teeth, making it difficult for the bacteria that causes cavities to cling to tooth surfaces. Be careful though, cranberries are high in acid and many products add too much sugar to make it taste better.

I love cranberries, well, not by themselves, but with some sugar, which I hear causes tooth decay... hehe... :crazy:
