A Connecticut felon with a lengthy rap sheet fatally stabbed his 11-month-old daughter and dismembered her — then got into an argument with her mom and fled, police said.

Police are on the hunt for Christopher Francisquini, 31, who is accused of murdering Camilla Francisquini on Friday morning at their Millville Avenue home in Naugatuck, the Hartford Courant reported.

After allegedly committing what Police Chief Colin McAllister described Monday as a “horrific and gruesome” crime, Francisquini got into a fight with Camilla’s mom, who was unaware the girl was already dead.

During the argument, Francisquini allegedly destroyed the mother’s cellphone, removed a GPS tracking device from his ankle and fled in a 2006 gray Chevy Impala.

The vehicle was later found abandoned on Interstate 91, officials said.

They have a lot of resources going into the search for him. I don't think it's going to take long before they find him. He was seen on Sat. by members of the public.

Press conference.

Christopher, if you are listening, the search will not stop until we find you and that we bring you in," FBI Assistant Special Agent Michael Butsch said during a news conference Thursday. "However, you have the power to change this. You have the power to contact us and to speak with us and to turn yourself in.

"He may be contacting family, friends or acquaintances seeking assistance, and he may travel to places with which he is familiar," Butsch said. Authorities warned that anyone housing or harboring Francisquini may not be safe and could face criminal charges.

Burke and Eagan said their agency's review will focus on how Francisquini was supervised after he was released from prison in June. [snip] The Office of the Child Advocate will also examine how public safety organizations determine the risks and conditions related to the release of an individual with a violent felony history living with young children.

Francisquini had spent most of the previous decade behind bars for a 2012 assault that put a man in the intensive care unit for days. He was released in December 2020, and in November 2021, accumulated multiple charges in connection with a carjacking and assaulting officers while trying to escape a detention facility. These new charges violated Francisquini's parole, so he was sent back to prison to complete the remainder of his 10-year sentence. Once he finished the sentence, Francisquini posted a total $375,000 bond for his pending cases and was released in June.

Waterbury Police arrested Christopher Francisquini Friday afternoon at about 3 p.m

Bond for him has been set at $5 million.

Two police sources say a concerned citizen called the anonymous tip line, which resulted in Francisquini's arrest.

When police confronted Francisquini at a bus stop in the area, he resisted arrest, the police sources said.

[Baby C] would have turned one this Saturday.
