She had one closed case in the system in Connecticut in 2023, (charges below), On March 16, 2023 she was given a 1 year conditional release in lieu of 11 months in jail before she went missing. Why are the police looking for her? Police are not that proactive, they hardly do anything when missing persons are reported to them by begging family members with excellent reasons to justify a person as missing, so for them to be looking for her says something. IMO

I was mistaken. She was reported missing by an ex girlfriend. The police have a warrant out for her but she has not been heard from since that court date in March.

Date of last contact is, as of now, April 2023. Her car is a black Jetta, 2004. It was impounded in 2022, and then again later that year corresponding to her charge in Aug 2022 here. She must have gotten it back out again in order to be arrested 1/4/23

Unless someone puts it in manually, I believe NamUs locations tend to be a centralised local area pindrop. They have a rep for being wildly inaccurate, and more often than not, bear little actual relation to where a decedent was found. Not to be relied upon.

Why wouldn’t LE inform family on where the remains were found ?

Apparently it is due to it being an active investigation. They also won't tell me what she was found with as far as personal items. They won't tell me if they have her car. Since her death is being investigated as suspicious due to the location of where she was found (wooded area), I assume that is why all the cloak and dagger.

I have provided them with enough info, I believe, to properly aid in the investigation. But I am frustrated with the lack of those answers as it limits what I can find.

FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: HUMAN REMAINS FOUND IN THOMPSON IN 2024 CONFIRMED TO BE REPORTED MISSING PERSON: Skeletal remains found in Thompson of October of 2024 have been positively identified as a reported missing person.

On October 17th, of 2024 Eastern Major District Crime detectives were conducting an investigation on Lowell Davis Road in regards to a reported missing person.

On November 11th, of 2024 the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) created a case in attempt to identify the remains found with the description listed as a white female, pre-40 standing at 5’ 4’’. The condition of the remains were determined as not recognizable with a near complete or complete skeleton which were found in a wooded area.

The skeletal remains have been since positively identified as Alicia Balderston, who was reported missing back in November of 2023 by the Plainfield Police Department. Her last known address was listed in Norwich.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed with WINY that the final cause and manner of death for Balderston was “undetermined”.

WINY reached out to CT State Police, who said the investigation into the death of Balderston remains an active investigation by the Eastern District Major Crimes and no information is available for release at this time.
