"Missing Person Alert

Today, July 26, 2022, at approximately 4:30pm, Troopers responded to a State Office Building on Lafayette Street in Bridgeport for report of a missing employee.

The missing state employee is a 47 year old female named Jessica Miller. Jessica was last seen in the State Office Building on Lafayette Street at approximately 2:30pm. Jessica left the building at approximately 2:36pm and began walking East on Fairfield Avenue. Jessica was last seen wearing long khaki pants and a white long sleeve shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop G at (203) 696-2500."

I'm local and watching for any info/chatter. On one hand, it seems like 2 hours from time she left to time of missing persons report is a little fast without something precipitating her leaving. On the other hand, if my coworker didn't return from lunch and no one had any record of her taking the afternoon off, and she wasn't answering her phone, I might push a panic button too! My gut says there was a precipitating factor. Work stress maybe, an argument with a coworker or boss? It's not a really great area where she works, I wouldn't want to be walking around alone out there. And surely they'd know if she had a car and have the info by now, have looked for it in the lot.

“There is no suspected criminal aspect at this time,” Trooper First Class Sarah Salerno said in an email Monday afternoon.

Jason Card, a friend of Miller’s, said in an interview Monday that he just wants to ensure she is OK.

“We’ll back off, we’ll leave you alone, do whatever you want, but you’ve got to let us know,” he said.

A state employee who was reported missing twice in a week is safe, police said Monday.

Miller is a support enforcement officer for the state Judicial Branch and is based in Bridgeport. A Judicial Branch representative declined to comment on the incident and referred further questions to state police.
