A Silver Alert was implemented by the CT Department of Public Safety for Stephanie Gonzalez 15 years old. Last seen on January 27th wearing a black coat, green pajama pants, and black Crocs.

Contact the Bridgeport Police Department with any information at 203-576-7671.

Stephanie is described as an endangered runaway who is white, with red hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds.

I cannot keep up with all these alerts. In my opinion, every missing person is equal and should be found. We don't need amber and silver and gold and orange and ebony and indian and whatever the heck. Clearly nobody else thinks this way because there are new alerts everyday, it seems.

Anyway, I'm always curious to see what these myriad alerts are supposed to do. For Connecticut, a silver alert is for an old person or young person that doesn't qualify for an amber alert.

Its not clear to me that there is any value to the alert except LE being able to pat themselves on the back about how good they are doing. I have not been able to find any statistics that say having an alert system yields better results than not, or why having multiple systems is more value than just, you know, doing your job and investigating.
