He is, isn’t he? I’m glad you replied, Greg. It gave me the opportunity to watch the clip again. It always makes me smileSnowball is an amazing Cockatoo. They are wonderful birds. Thank you for sharing his story here.
My pleasure. He’s hard to forget, that’s for sure!I was thinking of Snowball the other day! Thanks for posting this.
One of my friends has a macaw. It’s blue, white and yellow with black markings on its face. I’ve seen it crack nuts so there’s no way I’m getting my fingers anywhere near it.Ex and I had several parrots. Our severe macaw hated me with a passion. She would actively seek me out to attack. When ex was away for work the only way I could keep her under some kind of control was to play music. Not just any music, the Spanish station. Lol the only problem was she hated when they would SPEAK Spanish! She was the only bird I was happy to leave with the ex. Lol
Our Africa Grey was a great bird. He was big on humming and shoobie doobie doooooo! It was this funny thing like singing but he didn’t know the words. Every night he would ask me to sing a rockabye night night. Lol gosh I miss him.
Love it! Parrots are so clever!I’ll just wing it! Parrot becomes internet sensation after breaking into an interpretive dance routine to a Russian folk song

Another parrot that can dance which I thought was funny.
Go ahead. Tell those stories.Yes, African Grey Parrots can have a huge vocabulary. Unlike most other parrots they do not just mimic words and sounds. Greys actually are equivalent to a 6-7 year old child or more.
Oh the wonderful stories I could tell about my boy!!
Let’s see, we had 7 birds, every night Bullet would say night night peepers
Night night woody
Night night sherbie etc. Always ending with night night Mommy Bird.
Bullet knew lots of colors. Anyone remember the big pop apart toddler beads? I bought those to start teaching him colors. I would spread them out on the floor and ask for a specific color. Bullet would bring me the correct color bead and say that’s whatever color. One day I asked for red, he brought me yellow. He dropped it in front of me, said that’s not red that’s yellow, and started laughing!
I came home one day to his cage door open and no bird inside. He had NEVER done that! I found him in another room on top of an old rotary phone. He was bending over, yelling into the mouth piece “ I said Daddy’s not home”. It took me a minute to figure out what happened. Someone called and left a message on the old school answering machine. Bullet heard someone talking to “daddy” and seemed annoyed that they didn’t listen when he said daddy wasn’t home! Apparently he let himself out of the cage to yell at the caller. When he was done he went back in his cage and closed the door! Lol
What lovely stories SugarQueen. Thanks for sharing them. particularly like the one where he said ‘I said Daddy’s not home!’. What a crack upOne of the first things I taught Bullet was his name and address. As often as possible we would have someone he didn’t really know stop by and say hello, and ask him his name. He would tell them his name and his address. I did that so should he ever get loose there was a better chance he would get back to us.
