Daniel Holden, 19 Years Old, United Kingdom, Found Deceased In A Reservoir 31.8.2025
Daniel Holden's body was recovered in Lower Rivington Reservoir. The native of Bolton was a member of Horwich Amateur Football Club, who paid tribute to him. Assistant Coroner Taylor said ""Daniel Thomas Holden was found dead in Lower Rivington Reservoir on the 31st of August 2025 although how or when he entered the water could not be ascertained." It has not been possible to determine Holden's cause of death.
Holden was last seen at the reservoir 2 days earlier on August 29 2025.

The reservoir is a vast reserve of water than spans from Bolton Road to Horrobin Lane, in a soft rectangular shape with a broader area at the mouth of the reservoir. It is close to Liverpool Castle, a stone structure and historical landmark that is popular with tourists.
The weather in Lancashire on 29th August 2025 was warm and pleasant. Temperatures in Lancashire were above average for the time of year. In nearby Manchester, temperatures fluctuated between 20 and 22 degrees.
It's not clear from reports if there were any factors leading up to Holden's disappearance that may have contributed to his death. What would be useful to know would be who was visiting the nearby castle at the time? Were any people camping nearby? Were there any raves or recreational drug activities taking place in the vicinity?
