On April 24, 1967, Darlene Polizzi of Westminster Place in Lodi, NJ, was looking at new apartments with her husband. They had reportedly looked at three new apartments before returning to their Lodi residence. Sometime after their return home, Darlene’s husband went out, leaving Darlene at home. The following day, Darlene’s husband reported her missing.

Raymond Alves lived in Darlene's neighborhood when she disappeared. He moved away the day after she disappeared. In 1974, he was convicted of raping a teenager and tossing her off an overpass. Authorities believe he may be a serial killer, but he has not been connected to Darlene's case.
