Queensland Police appeal for information as search continues for missing 70-year-old Dawn Wells

A major search operation is underway south of Brisbane as police intensify efforts to locate a "beloved community member" who went missing late last year.

Dawn Wells, 70, was last seen at a Logan bus stop with her husband on December 9 before the pair became separated.

She has not been seen since.

On Wednesday, a police dog squad, State Emergency Service (SES) crews and police divers set up a coordinated field search along Compton Road at Slacks Creek, close to where Ms Wells was last sighted.

Acting Inspector Warren Parker said Ms Wells has "health vulnerabilities" that require "constant medical attention", increasing concerns for her welfare.

As part of the renewed appeal, investigators have placed a mannequin at the search site dressed in clothing similar to what Ms Wells was wearing when she disappeared, in the hope it will jog the memory of anyone who could have seen her
