I searched but the only thread I found on this child had a single entry and was locked.

Eleanor Williams had just completed the first leg of a 1500-mile bus trip from Virginia to Kansas, and was sitting on a bench, exhausted from traveling with her 3-month-old daughter, April Nicole Williams, while waiting for her next bus. A friendly young woman came and chatted with her, and when the baby needed changing, offered to take her to the restroom and change her. That was the last time Eleanor saw her daughter.

Hoping Ms. Williams’ daughter April is located. It would not surprise me if April was living/raised very close to where she was taken from.

According to a news article, Free Lance Star, May 4, 1984, Ms. Williams was unable to recall important details in the hours after the abduction. She returned 3 months later where the abductor description and possible middle name were given. See the excerpt below. <<A woman Eleanor didn't know asked to hold the baby. Still holding the baby, the woman left and walked in the direction of a nearby Hardee's restaurant, ostensibly to get a soda. She never returned and she and April have never been seen again.

A sketch of April's abductor is posted with this case summary. She is described as an African-American woman in her twenties and 5'3 tall, with red, braided hair. She used the first name Latoya.

Investigators believe whoever kidnapped April probably wanted to raise her as their own child. Her case remains unsolved.>>

April Williams, 3 Months: Kidnapped From A Bus Terminal In 1983

Her mother chatted with a nice woman who offered to change the baby's diaper. The woman took April Williams and disappeared with the baby.

<<While there, the young mother was greeted by a Black woman with spots on her face, a dark complexion, and short and wavy dark hair, who was about 5 feet 3 inches tall and fawned over Baby April. She initiated a conversation with Eleanor and was described as gentle and kind. The slim-built stranger, who claimed her name was Latoya, told the teen mom she was heading “out west.”

Latoya “was being friendly, asking me lots of questions. Like, ‘Where are you going?’ And, ‘How old is your baby?’ She was nice, you know? Then she was like, ‘Do you mind if I hold her?’ And I was sitting right next to her, right there, so I said okay, and I let her,” said Eleanor. At that point, Eleanor had been traveling alone with a baby, hadn’t slept in 24 hours, and still had another 1,200 miles to go. Latoya seemed nice, so Eleanor didn’t believe there would be a problem.

Then, Latoya told Eleanor that April needed her diaper changed and kindly offered to take on the task for the tired mom. Eleanor was apprehensive but agreed. That was the last time she would see Baby April or Latoya.>>

“The suspect could have a sister named Latisha or Natisha,” the police department said of Baby April’s abductor. “The suspect could have the astrological sign of ‘Leo.’ The suspect is described as [having] . . . a dark brown complexion and spots on her face. Her ears were pierced with two holes in each ear.” They added, “She could go by Rene or Rene Latoya.”>>​
