Officers were dispatched to Smalleys Cove in Bear at about 3:55 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a missing person, Adolph "Allen" Conover, who had left and made statements that caused a concern for his welfare. Conover was suspended by the homeless shelter's board in January and fired in March after the state's Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health started asking about grant money it provided the nonprofit that was missing.
Conover is described as a white male, about 6-feet tall and approximately 280 pounds. He has shaven brown hair, hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a black Adidas jogging suit with a red stripe down the side. He may be operating a tan, 2012 Chevy Suburban, bearing either Delaware registration HP38190 or PC58857.
