DE DE - Anne Manchester, 26, Newark, 29 June 1980

@methodwriter85...the doe in NJ seems to match up with height, age, location, and dates. The only things throwing me off are the blonde hair strands, the ring with the initials E.W., and the scars of parturition (childbirth) Anne wore a silver wedding band on her right hand...maybe this belonged to a family member of hers. Wonder if anyone in Anne's family had the EW connection? Will have to research, but the scars of childbirth on the skeleton..could this be mistaken for parturition when its actually something else (?)....since Anne did not have a child .

@methodwriter85 ..maybe think about submitting the NJ Doe (?)
I just did it. I don't know if I did it correctly, but I did send the form.
It's worth a shot, especially because the Doe was skeletonized. The only things that didn't match where the hair color, the ring not quite matching up, and the possible pregnancy. I think it's reasonable that enough does actually match to have put her in.

Mary Bell got back to me and let me know that there wasn't a comparison done before so she's going to send it to the panel. If there's a positive match, she'll contact me further.

Anne Manchester has been officially ruled out as Ocean County Jane Doe 1981. I knew it was a long shot, but worth looking into!

So Anne was a college student about to graduate. She has her own Apt and car. Did she have a job? If so, were her co workers questioned? June 29th was a Sunday. Surprised no one heard or seen anything. Makes me think Anne knew this person. Went to briefly meet this person in the parking lot, expecting to be quick and not go anywhere...and something transpired. Wish cold case detectives would revisit this. Finding past college friends and co workers to re interview. I know Anne's apt was on the third floor. If it faced the parking lot, she could hv been waiting on the balcony for this person to arrive, then ran out to meet them, leaving her purse, shoes, and cigs inside.

From what I read in an article, Anne had worked in a steel plant firm in Claymont, Delaware for a couple of years after she graduated from college in 1976. She then stopped working her job to focus full-time on her master's degree.

I can definitely see the former co-worker angle. I've also thought that maybe Anne had a classmate who promised to give her notes for their test tomorrow and kidnapped her in the parking lot. I do think whatever happened to Anne happened in the parking lot.

I agree about the parking lot. Seems too personal rather than a random abduction. Would be interesting to know if anyone in Anne's circle( co workers or college classmates) have ever been arrested for crimes against women since her disappearance. I dont remember reading about anyone they considered a POI at the time. Makes me wonder, if people were re interviewed today, if anyone would toss out a name or two they had suspicions about...
