thanks itreenw! That summed it up and now I am not so lost! However, I do wonder if her family is still living and what they think of all this?? Do they know how she has posted on here and the evil things she said? That could be damaging to their characters as people.

Maybe Delia is schizophrenic? It's a possibility.

I am sorry to those who spent so much time and effort but as the mods said, you helped solve a case and you did find out who Delia Cly was. That is some excellent sleuthing. :clap:

Weren't people sending Delia money to have DNA tests run? I wonder if the whole thing wasn't some con aimed solely at getting some, any money from this and other forums? This sort of money raising thing has supposedly happened several times on this and other forums. I think it could all be the same people at different times pretending to be different people who would really gain the sympathy of others. The story would have to be really detailed and have some truth to get people involved. There was even some wild story about a woman needing help on a fibromyalgia forum where I used to read. I sent the owner an email telling how distasteful I thought it was for her to allow someone to ask the forum for "help", which of course had to involve money, and I was in the wrong and not Christian like according to the owner.

To my knowledge Delia never solicited anyone here for money. When the whole mess blew up, one of the mods asked that if anyone had been asked for money to PM them and let them know. I am not aware of anyone who did and I'm sure the mods would have told us that, even if they didn't say who.
It wasn't money that Delia took from us who worked so hard to help her, it was our trust. Many of us look at posters who come here with a story a little harsher since that whole experience. But, as the mods said, we did not fail, it just did not end the way we all hoped that it would. A leasson learned and we all moved on to help another.

well,*i* was offended by "kelly's" utter wasting of our time and trust! that's what you get for trying to help someone... next time i will be more skeptical from the beginning, when someone asks for help. which is a good idea anyway.
thanks mods for putting an end to that frustrating madness. i just hope no innocent people are getting hurt in that scenario.. it would be too bad if we actually had a real chance to help someone, but couldn't.. but oh well, you can only do so much.

How do you know that Kelly wasted our timeor that we haven't helped? Have you heard from her ? If I am proven wrong I will be the first one to come forward and admit it.

Oh, and BTW I have heard from Kelly and the police are involved and the child was being interviewed by LE today, thanks to some help she received from some of our sleuthers.

Well bakerprune64, you were a little harsh on reb as your last paragraph sounds sarcastic, jmo. Yes, I was hard on kelly near the end, not in the beginning, not only because of what she was and wasn't doing to help the child, but also because of what was going on in pm's and behind the scenes. You've heard back from her, you're lucky, some of us that genually tried to help her, me included in pm's haven't since her last post. Don't you think that's unkind considering how much we all tried to help and that we cared so much? Even a pm would have sufficed. So she "cancelled" her membership, funny since she was here reading the Jury Room several times, after the supposed cancellation, so that was a lie. Even then, she could have at least posted what you have, that the police were now involved, to at least ease our minds that the 13 year old, and her and her son would now be safe, don't you think, it would be the least she could do after all the attention and caring was expressed by most members, both on the board and in pm's. Nope, nothing when even a simple sentence like police are now contacted, I'm no longer speaking about this issue would have sufficed. So, in closing, let me say this, many of us have been burned by posters on the forum in the past, so while I don't speak for others here, I am suspicious when things don't add up, excuses are made, then the EMERGENCY matter turns out to go on for days, sometimes with no response. I, for one, resent being used by anyone, let alone someone who doesn't have the decency to give me ease of mind when I'm spending sleepless nights thinking a child out there may be in danger. Also, as a friendly reminder, please be careful who you defend and trust, it may just come back to bite you in the arse, been there, done that, and it isn't pleasant!

Do you have any update since the police went over and what the present situation is and any proof of the police going over other than her words? Please let us know, as I know, even though I doubt her story, part of me is still worried there might be a chance it's true and the child/children are in danger. Thank you very much!

Well considering that Tybee said that she would no longer allow WS to be involoved in any possible criminal act and locked the thread, why would you think that Kelly would post anything else in regards to this matter. And then to read that so many have doubts, why would you think she'd want to post anything? This is just my speculation as to why she is shying away from posting and responding to many of the PM's. As soon as I have more information, I will be happy to share. As for being harsh in my second paragraph..how? I don't see how giving an update was harsh. I din't post this response to piss in anybody's proverbial cheerios, just to let you know that all isn't always what it seams and there has been communication.

no problem, it's good to know it's being looked into (if in fact it has). i didn't mean to be so harsh either (sorry kelly) but it was frustrating as it seemed like we were being take for a ride for a bit there. a simple 'LE is now involved and talking to the girl-- i can't talk about it anymore but please know it's being taken care of" would have been nice. we're real people here. but oh well, i'm just glad it's being taken dealt with.. and i hope it has a good resolution.
