A 22-year-old delivery truck driver searched for his birth mother for years. Little did he know, she was just a few aisles away.
In 1985, Christine Tallady gave up her newborn son for adoption because she said she wasn't ready to be a mother.
More than 20 years later, Steve Flaig began his search, finding his birth mother's name through an open adoption record, according to a report in The Grand Rapids Press.

While this is extremely touching and wonderful...

I can't help to think I'd never date someone young enough to be my child, if I had given one up for adoption... just in case it was him.

That is a great story!! The picture of them together says it all. It is so nice to hear some good news this morning.

(by the way, bnhall, I'm a huge fan of Wilco!! One of my favorites is Wilco's version of 'California Stars')

I appreciate that the mother left the adoption record open just in case her son wanted to find her. You don't hear about that too often.

This is such a great story!! I have a similar one, hope no one gets mad if I tell it here...

My dad who raised me died when I was 17, 11 years ago. When he died my Aunt told me My dad was still out there I just had to find him. Not a big shock as I always felt different from those in my family. So for 10 years I searched and searched with no luck. All I had was a name and an age. I was the product of a one night stand. So one day I was sitting here at the puter and decided to google his name and see what popped up. So the first site that came up was A comidian's website, so I clicked and there he was. I knew instantly just by looking at him, we look just like one another. So I decided to write him, and can you believe he had been waiting for me to find him!! A man they worked with told him my mom had a baby a couple years after I was born although he told him she had a boy. So long story short as soon as he replied we met for lunch and have seen each other all the time since.
