Display Modes

I would like it,when I go into a thread for the posts to show up with the new posts first.

I chose the Linear Mode,but it did not give me the option to pick new posts first,in fact it didn't give me an option at all.

It gets tiresome having to scroll down to get the newest post,especially when it's a popular thread and the posts are numerous.

Can some one advise me on how to accomplish this?

Try doing it this way, go to User CP and click on this(top left of every page is your user control panel), and click on "edit options" (on left side of page)..towards the bottom of the page is "thread display mode options" click on the drop down list and here you should see the Linear newest post first option (or something close to that wording). That is how I did mine.
