regarding the guy who doesn't take the sign down.. it's quite possible there may be some sex offenders to WANT people to know-- you know, the ones who know they are hopelessly sick and incurable, and yet remorseful, and want everyone to know about it.. since they can't control themselves. it's the secrecy is what enables them to do their dirty deeds. a sign would insure that kids avoid his area- and parents would keep their kids away... which is what the guy wants, if he knows he is sick. such a person may own & like his house, might not want to move, and knows that wherever he goes he'll have to deal with the same thing (people knowing about him)... so he may as well stay.
