Despite having an infant son who doctors have said will not make it past his first birthday, the Benoit family of Zebulon is set on making this a Christmas worth remembering.
The Wake Weekly interviewed the Benoit family in August, when their infant son Ethan was finally allowed home after months at UNC and Duke hospitals.

This little darlings story touched my heart. Please pray for him and his family.

What a sad but touching story of love.:(

This is so very sad. I wish things like this didn't happen.

The article said that Ethan is blind and deaf, but his family seems to think that he can see the bright lights and hear their voices. I wonder . . .

Ethan has a very brave family.

um, sounds like there was a lot of malpractice going on there.

Wow...
I just want to cry my eyes out now...
Honestly, I don't think I could survive this.. I couldn't handle it..
Ethan has a very strong family.

Yery rare disease, though. Not sure I can fault anyone without looking further. Like you though, I don't like to hear the word "operation" alongside a poorly understood diagnosis, esp in a child; figure out what is going on before you cut.
