Gospel singer Dottie Rambo dies in tour bus wreck

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (AP) -- Joyce "Dottie" Rambo, an influential gospel singer and songwriter, died early Sunday when her tour bus ran off the highway and struck an embankment. She was 74.
Seven other people on the bus were injured in the wreck about two miles east of Mount Vernon on Interstate 44, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. They were hospitalized in Springfield with moderate to severe injuries, according to the patrol.

How sad. I don't follow this music but even I recognized her name. I'm sorry for her family, friends and fans.

I've seen her on Christian TV. Dottie suffered from a painful spinal condition for years. It's too bad that she died in a bad accident. Her son in law (can't remember his name) was in the band that had the hit Stairway to Heaven and later became a Christian.
