Dynasty star Kate O Mara dies

Brit actress Kate O Mara, best known for her role as Cassandra Morrell, Alexis Colby's (played by Joan Collins) scheming sister in Dynasty, has died age 74 in a Sussex, UK nursing home.

Kate was also known in the UK for her roles in Dr Who, The Saint and Howard's Way.

Kate seemed very grounded. In the 2.57 update at the Mirror link, she is quoted joking about her time in Hollywood and how she didn't recognise herself after all the grooming. Lots of tributes coming in for her.

Joan Collins has tweeted a tribute to Kate now.

Incidentally, I see Joan has a picture there of her and sis Jackie smiling through an earthquake. Looking at her tweets....you know all those carefully prepared, public emergency plans in the event of earthquakes etc? I don't think Joan's been reading them. 'Prepared for what?' she's asking....

I know her from Doctor Who, she was pretty good as a renegade timelady. RIP Kate.
