“There has been no new information in the case that I am aware of,” he said. “There are no significant leads.”

Hunters discovered the badly decomposed body of an adult in the Stacyville woods and the case is in the hands of investigators attached to Maine State Police Troop F in Houlton.

The body of the man — believed to have been in his 50s, about 5 feet 9 inches and weighing about 150 pounds — was found by deer hunters on Nov. 4, 2010, in the woods off Route 11.

Officials from the state medical examiner’s office said there are no signs of foul play and estimate the man may have died in early September 2010.

Twelve days after the body was discovered, police released more information about the clothing found on the body. They indicated that the man had been wearing a blue-and-white plaid, button-down, long-sleeve shirt. The shirt was a Vineyard Vines whale shirt from a clothing company based in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. He also was wearing St. John’s Bay khaki pants that had a 33-inch waist and a 30-inch inseam, along with a St. John’s Bay dark-brown canvas jacket, size medium.

He had white New Balance sneakers on his feet, which were model 811, size 10EE, according to police.

Also found with the body was a black High Sierra briefcase containing three empty juice and water bottles, two spray cans of the insect repellent OFF and a brown sweater, size medium.

The victim also was wearing a blue-and-white knit cap with the name “Chris” knit into the design. The DPS released a photo of the hat last year.

The few clues left in the woods where the body was discovered are all investigators have to help them identify the man.

Stacyville, ME would be about 32 miles south of Smyrna (where IK's sisters live), with a couple of alternatives for routes going north - I-95 and ME-11. Estimated date of death - September 2010.

I absolutely agree 100% that Debra Feldman could be the victim from east coast state Aug 9th etc. As soon as FBI released latest info I felt she was the one but I wasn't a registered user but I was hoping one of you guys would suggest her. There is very little info on the circumstances of her disappearance but I think it would be important to know how she could have crossed paths with IK. What kind of life style did she lead? Where was she last seen? How do we find out more info? The investigators? The Family? I really believe she is the one but do not know where to go from here?

Binghamton, NY (MPN) – On January 11, 2006, thirty-four year old Bambi Lyn Madden left her house at 29 Winding Way in Binghamton, NY, to walk to a nearby convenience store. Though it was 11pm, the petite blonde-haired, blue-eyed wife and mother of three, was just going to run down the road quick for beer. She set off with $5 in her pocket, wearing a pair of size 3 black jeans, a black medium-sized South Pole brand puffy jacket, and a pair of size 6 Timberland boots. It was a cold, dark January night in upstate NY, and one would expect anyone out walking in the weather would want to make their trek quickly. But hour after hour passed and eventually morning came, and still she had not returned. Bambi Lyn Madden had vanished in the night.
What they do know is that, although she was known to frequent the Clinton Street bars “the Brass Rail Grill” and “Sara’s Pub”, nobody at either establishment recalls having seen her since the night she vanished. Having dredged the river and interviewed family members and friends repeatedly, police say all of their potential leads have been exhausted.

Keyes was unaccounted for:

Backwoods, Keyes volunteered the Tupper Lake bank robbery during an interview when prosecutors were basically threatening that Vermont prosecutors needed a good-faith gesture in order to keep media silence and not locally prosecute for the Curriers. Keyes said he didn't remember the date, but that there was media coverage and security video. He said that, due to that same trip, "there's a body in New York." Therefore, prosecutors looked for missing persons cases around the date of the bank robbery. They knew the start and end dates because of airplane tickets from and back to Alaska. They also knew the rental car milage, giving a geographic circumference of possibility.

Ok. So I did a really poor Google map of the distances/locations IK could go and return to NH. I picked a few major locations on the map about 800 miles away. I am not great at Google maps, sorry, I backtracked to NH each time so it wouldn't give me "short-cuts". Looking at the max radius he could travel could help pinpoint potential victims. I am sure he didn't drive to one place and back, but, it does help to narrow the search area. I didn't include Canada as there would (I think be a border crossing record-at least coming back in). IMOO, I am a visual person. Anyway, I couldn't get my attachments button to work, so you get a map!

I found this artical that has a little more information on Debra Feldman than I've been able to find anywhere such as street adress and other public record things. It has two persons that the FBI has ruled out as his victims. It also list two dates for these victim stating he was in Arkansas both dates so it ruled him out. On the timeline it only says Western USA. Could the Arkansas be a typo instead of Alaska or is there other info that has not been released yet?

Confusing the abbreviations for Alaska and Arkansas is not uncommon, I'd say, so Arkansas could be an error, if someone was looking at the abbreviation when writing the story. But hold on -- gonna go see if the IK timelines help here ... be back with info.

I know this is "West" and I don't think of Arkansas as being "West" ... exactly; but I have noticed that "West" seems to be a bit fluid in these timelines, as they develop. I do think Arkansas more likely (on that April 2010 date) than Alaska, because, well, usually when he was in Alaska we see a notation about him coming back there from somewhere, and then we see when he left again. (Usually...)

The dates I bolded above, IF IF IF he was in Arkansas, led me to a case I think would certainly bear some scrutiny, but I don't know what "region" we are calling Arkansas in this forum, so -- I went ahead and posted a query about that in the IK General Discussion thread, explaining a little about your "find". Not trying at ALL to steal your thunder, I promise -- I gave you credit -- just wanting to see what others think about Arkansas so (if consensus is it's possible) I can bring that case I found up in the appropriate thread pronto!


ETA: Another possibility -- "Arkansas" MAY have been a mistake in the article, but what should have been said may have been ARIZONA, rather than Alaska. (That would fit even better with West than Arkansas, IMO.)

Interesting. I don't read French, but just a quick Google Translate tells me that Catherine died in her apartment, which showed no signs of forced entry. She was assaulted and tied to her bed, then the place was set on fire. Seems the time between a phone conversation with a friend and the time the fire was reported was only about an hour -- so not a long window for the murder, most likely.

If you look at GGE timeline based on FBI published material this murder doesn't work within the timeline. It certainly sounds like him with the fire and all.

Bob Long was missing from NY on december 21, 2010.

keyes was in big cities just a couple of months earlier (chicago and boston, both in october). he obviously was riding a city vibe in 2010. i would say yes, it's possible that he could be responsible for Long's disappearance.

i'm skeptical of the timeline. it's possible that the timeline has missed dates of travel and / or other errors. it would be nice if an FBI agent was assigned to websleuths to work with us and help us. lol.

Good catch on that one. I don't know why I thought I saw 10/21 on the date he went missing, my mistake.
