This weekend is the second in a row that parts of Europe have been hit by storm winds and heavy rain, last weekend it was Ciara, now it's Dennis. Here in Sweden the bridge in Uddevalla have been closed off due to high winds and some places have got up to 40 mm rain in a day, which is as much as they usually get during the entire month of February! Bro stängd i Dennis spår: ”Blåser över 30 meter per sekund”
As I grew up in Uddevalla, I know that parts of the city centre gets inundated as soon as there are heavy winds from the sea, and now the traffic that can't go over the bridge have to go through the city centre.

Also the UK have been heavily hit by Dennis, Wales have got lots of rain, and one man have drowned after falling in a river. Storm Dennis: man dies after falling into River Tawe in south Wales – latest news

We had that in the Balkans earlier in the month - I thought the wind would rip the windows right off the back of my house which sits on a canyon - it has since given way to blue skies and sun with spring quickly approaching. I have many friends in Norway and Sweden suffering the poor weather and a fellow firefighter in England who's fished his fair share of bodies out of the river this winter- I hope the glum passes soon and doesn't have any further tragic effects! Wishing you calm and sunshine!!
