Fabian was last seen around 7:00 pm in Boulder, Colorado on August 28, 1987. He dropped off a friend, and was supposed to pick up his girlfriend at 7:30 pm. He never arrived at her workplace but has never been heard from again. His car was later found abandoned with a substantial amount of blood in the passenger side.
