Family of Tawana Brawley Wants to Revisit Infamous Rape Case

  • #21
I love Al Sharpton, but this was one case where he messed up big time and made himself less credible for a while. I wonder if Tawana herself knew what her parents were doing ahead of time.
I love al sharpton too. as much as i love david dukes, because he and dukes are cut from the same cloth.
Al was actually one of the subjects of a presentation some years ago entitled something like "Greatest American Hoaxes." He was later found guilty of libel and slander of a police officer and ordered to pay ??? amount. I heard he never paid it, but that his "church" paid it for him! He's a wolf in sheep's clothing, IMHO.

"Pay-up time for Brawley: '87 rape-hoaxer finally shells out for slander"

"Twenty-five years after accusing an innocent man of rape, Tawana Brawley is finally paying for her lies."

"Last week, 10 checks totaling $3,764.61 were delivered to ex-prosecutor Steven Pagones — the first payments Brawley has made since a court determined in 1998 that she defamed him with her vicious hoax."

Can I hear a YES? It's about time, in my opinion.

WOW, it's been that long. Yeah, back in the day when cnn was pretty much it as far as 24/7 news and al sharpton was loving life on tv. This incident if you will was a turning point for me in my way of viewing people in general. How could people stand and lie the way they did knowing that the people being accused were not guilty of the crime. It was a sad day for me.

This is what made Al Sharpton infamous. Tawana Brawley's parent saying they should be millionaire is a poor reflection on them.

If some of you would turn off Fox and watch MSNBC once in awhile, you'd find that the Rev. Sharpton of 30 years ago is not the Rev. Sharpton of today. (And how odd! Apparently Sharpton and I are the only ones who have mellowed with age.)

He's actually very thoughtful and very compassionate: toward blacks and whites alike.

I wonder why she would rather pay than issue a heartfelt apology?

Sharpton is a hater, if he had one once of compassion he would have apologized he standing with tawana. And we all know that the news stations all have their on agenda's and angles, jmo and saying which news station to watch is pretty much saying just that. Fact is when I do have tv I watch them all, and msnbc is not doing so well in the ratings.

Phil Griffin Responds To MSNBC's Rough Ratings Month

I listen to the message not the messenger, and when I hear it from multiple sources I actually get a more informed story of the truth, and not what the one talking head wants me to hear and think. I can think for myself.jmo
