Sen. Dianne Feinstein has called for a federal investigation into the death of a San Francisco man who died in the Oregon mountains while seeking help for his stranded family.

Feinstein said Friday that the unlocked gate leading to the mountain road where the family got stuck for more than a week contributed to the death of 35-year-old James Kim.
