Fire rips through Oregon apartments, man refuses to leave

A fierce blaze ripped through a Beaverton, Oregon apartment block this morning. As even balconies burned and fell, one man - thought to maybe have had a mental health crisis - refused to leave.

In the end, he had to be threatened with a taser in order for firefighters to get him out of the burning building.

The poor man, if he had a more stable mind and was in better control of himself, he may have had enough time to rescue some precious possessions, (photographs etc).
It reads as though they only managed to get him to leave at the last minute and he probably lost everything. Photographs are precious as are some other items, he probably lost everything, except what he was wearing. How sad.
