Firefighters in Scotland who rescued a man from his burning flat have returned to the blaze to save his pet parrot before reviving the bird with a dose of oxygen.
Roger the macaw was pulled from the apartment in Edinburgh after its owner was rescued and alerted emergency workers to the plight of his pet, which was trapped inside its cage.
A brigade spokesman has admitted it is rare for an animal to receive oxygen from firefighters.
Both man and bird have reportedly made a full recovery.
