fires in San Diego County-evacuations

I hope they all turn out to be non arson related. Maybe then we can make a real case (and follow through) for much more detailed fire prevention information and knowledge for the public-at-large. I would never think that construction could start a fire?

Btw, Flemming, the Cal Fire Battalion Chief Flemming wanted for murdering his fiance has been arrested. Not much about how, when or where though, just that he's in custody.

Is this the new one that just popped up a few hours ago? The new one is right over the hill from us in San Clemente, we went to where we heard you could see it on the radio, but they are moving traffic from there.

Was in Yorba Linda last night, no smoke at all, went back up to Brea this morning, and it's smokier up there than it is closer to the fire (although with the new one it's pretty bad here again too) So, so sad to watch this.

Spoke to my son tonight. They had been on standby to evacuate for the past two days. This afternoon they were given three minutes to grab their gear and evacuate to another part of the base. All non essential employees were sent home and the base is on lockdown. At the below link are some scary pictures of the fires on base. Some look awfully close to the brand new single Marine apartments.

Here is the pic of the apartments. I think they were only built six months ago!

How scary for them esp getting orders to evacuate in 3 minutes. Hope everyone stays safe.

Fire trucks mass on SR 79 in Julian, a mile from town, watching the fires progress and setting backfires.
