Daniel Gillespie, Jr died two days after his 71st birthday.
He was found dead within one day of a court WRIT OF POSSESSION which commanded the Sheriff to remove all persons from his property and put him in possession of his property.
I think solving his '
death from unnatural causes' will require a snitch reward.

Lawyer for man found dead in Clearwater home: 'I was very concerned something was going to happen to him.'
Published: November 22, 2018
CLEARWATER — Deborah Moss worried about her client.

Daniel Gillespie, 71, had endured court battles, accusations of abuse and several months living in a motel room, said Moss, a Clearwater attorney.

He had just moved back into his house at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive near Clearwater last week. He found the house had been vandalized by one of his daughters, a woman Gillespie tried to evict as tensions between them mounted.

“I was very concerned that something was going to happen to him,” said Moss, who represented Gillespie in one of the court cases.

On Thursday, days after Gillespie moved back, Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies found him dead in the home.

I doubt that this forum can help with the case. There seems to be serious ongoing family dynamics. Perhaps someone will snitch?

“a snitch reward.” would probably do it. Someone needs a Go Fund Me Page

I can only hope, this was my father and other than the sister living in the house, we(the other 3 siblings) are devastated and want justice for our father we know the truth but proving it is not going to be easy, I pray every day that someone will snitch as this will be the only way he will get the justice he deserves.

I’m so sorry you and your sibling lost your father. Minor details can sometimes be the one thing that sets a resolution in motion. Hopefully that will happen soon. Someone will talk, not even realizing the impact of their statement initially.

Fire engulfs Clearwater home at center of unsolved homicide
Daniel Gillespie, 71, was found dead in November 2018 at the home at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive. His children have been embroiled in a court dispute over what to do with it.
January 29, 2020
CLEARWATER — A home at the center of an unsolved homicide caught fire early Wednesday morning, authorities said, adding another wrinkle to a languishing case tinged with family conflict.

No one was hurt in the blaze at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive, said Clearwater Fire & Rescue spokesman Rob Shaw. The home was vacant. Firefighters were called to the scene at about 3:30 a.m.

Clearwater Fire & Rescue and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire. Sheriff’s Sgt. Jessica Mackesy said “it will be some time before we will have anything further.”

That agency has also been investigating a homicide at the home since deputies found Daniel Gillespie, 71, dead there Nov. 15, 2018. The Sheriff’s Office said at the time he died of unnatural causes but provided no other information. The agency said Wednesday that investigation was still active and declined to release more details.

After his death, ownership of the home was transferred to his four adult children, who all have a quarter share, according to court records. Three of the children wanted to sell the home. The fourth, Shannon Gillespie, who was living in the house, refused.

After a lengthy court battle, the court sided with the three children. Under a special magistrate appointed to the case, the home was set to be sold to an investor for $190,000 at the end of this month.

But Shannon Gillespie was still living there as of Friday, spurring the magistrate to file a motion asking a judge to force her out. She and siblings Beth and Anthony Gillespie appeared in court Wednesday to discuss several issues regarding the ownership and condition of the home, including disbursement of a potential home insurance payment as a result of Wednesday’s fire.

Siblings battle over house's fate
On the same day the house burned down, its current resident, Shannon Gillespie, 45, was in court for an emergency hearing to get her out. Shannon is the daughter that Daniel Gillespie tried to evict from the house shortly before his death.

Shannon's siblings previously received a court order to sell the house. The closing was, in fact, scheduled for Friday.

During today's hearing, Daniel Kortenhaus, an attorney for Shannon's siblings, said they believe Shannon started the fire.

“The house at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive was burned to the ground last night and speculation on our side, of course, is that the defendant may or was probably culpable,” said Kortenhaus.

Today's hearing marked the latest episode in a 16-month court battle over the house between Shannon and her relatives. The four Gillespie children inherited the home following their father's death.

The proceeding also featured attorneys showing photos of intentional damage done to the home prior to the fire that they allege was done by Shannon.

When questioned directly, Shannon denied the allegation.

However, one of her brothers said during the hearing that Shannon had warned him she'd set the home on fire.

"She said that she would rather burn the house down then us get our part of the inheritance," said Tony Gillespie.

Clearwater home where man found dead in 2018 gutted by early morning fire
Posted: 7:30 PM, Jan 29, 2020
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Fire investigators spent hours combing for clues at the scene of an early Wednesday morning house fire in Clearwater.

It’s the same home at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive that's also at the center of an unsolved murder.
[...]
Anthony Gillespie says he's heartbroken and angry.

“I knew this was going to happen,” he said with a heavy sigh.

Just hours before a hearing that would have officially evicted his sister from his father’s home, and paved the way for its sale, a massive blaze engulfed the home.

Anthony and his siblings suspect their own sister may be to blame.

“My sister Shannon told my sister Beth and I she would watch this house burn before we got anything,” he added.

Investigators spent hours Wednesday going through every inch of the house, including bringing in an accelerant sniffing dog to look for any indicators of arson.
[...]
“Shannon moved out of the house November 13 or 14, and within days, Mr. Gillespie was found dead here in the property. Big coincidence there," said Daniel Kortenhaus, the attorney representing the three other Gillespie siblings.

Court records show Daniel Gillespie successfully evicted his adult daughter, Shannon Gillespie, and her children leading up to his death which investigators called "unnatural."
[...]
“If the sheriff’s department can’t figure out who killed my dad then we’ll never truly know what happened,” Anthony Gillespie said.

“I would love for them to arrest whoever did it,” Elizabeth Gillespie added. "Whether that's my sister or someone else."

The house would still be worth the sale price. The location of the lot is the value.

It sold recently for $115,000 and the listing states the existing building has been condemned and must be torn down. It is concrete block construction on a slab. It is on 0.39 acre and yes, the land is quite valuable.

This property is being sold As-Is. The current construction has been condemned and must be demolished by the buyer after purchase.

Shannon Gillespie was evicted from the home she shared with her father at 1506 Meadow Dale Drive, according to her arrest report. She “returned to the home stealthily during the night,” the report said, and “hid and waited for the opportunity to surprise” her father.

She then beat and stabbed him to death, according to the report. Gualtieri said she used a knife and a baseball bat.

She then told her son about the killing and instructed him to discover the death so it could be reported to police, the arrest report said. The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately answer questions about whether the son would face charges.

Shannon Gillespie previously denied to the Tampa Bay Times that she had anything to do with her father’s death.
