FORT LAUDERDALE - A former Everglades High School wrestling coach convicted of molesting a teenage girl he was escorting to suspension is set to be sentenced today.
Alain Cupas, 30, faces a maximum of 45 years in prison.
He was convicted last month of three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation for the March 2, 2007, incident involving a girl who was 15 at the time.
During the trial, the 17-year-old girl told jurors that Cupas, who also worked as a security guard at the Miramar school, kissed and fondled her after he took a detour while escorting her to internal suspension.
