I think there could be plenty of movement in this case.
However, the public is unlikely to learn anything new since the suspect is a minor. There may even be a gag order in place...IMO

We have heard a lot about some cases with minors, even ones in Florida. Derek Rosa comes to mind. He was charged as an adult for killing his mother.

Then, other cases, just get lost and buried.

That's what you're wearing showing up to court for potential murder charges, shows you that none of them care or cared about Anna, moo

Yep.

Plus hands in pockets.
Total nonchalance.

Well-placed sources say he faces at least two charges over bubbly Anna’s November 7 death. The judge will also decide at today’s hearing whether the boy will remain in custody or be released into the care of a relative.

Or we can wonder why no one bought him proper clothing for court.
Hands in pockets, he's nervous.
Would it be better if he showed up in a suit and pretended to have respect? Maybe he is largely on his own now. We'll see.

Don't know what to make of this. First I've heard of rape charges. With that said, there might not have been a rape (although it wouldn't surprise me in the least). The way it's worded simply says he's unable to confirm those charges.

Christopher said this week he was 'unable to confirm or deny' that his stepson was facing murder and rape charges.

A 16-year-old being investigated in the death of his stepsister on a Carnival cruise ship last yearappeared before a federal judge in Miami on Friday.

The 16-year-old stepbrother of Anna Kepner appeared before a federal magistrate in a locked courtroom with his public defenders, prosecutors and U.S. Marshals.

The criminal docket for the magistrate judge revealed a sealed case was on his agenda and that case number remained sealed Friday afternoon, so any charges he may face have not been publicly released.

The teen later walked to another courthouse, where he went into a probation office where defendants are processed for pretrial release.

So he’s in federal court, files are locked down, the parents know their kid is in deep now. My guess is not only will they monitor him but his parents and anyone within spitting distance is on the feds radar.
