Identified! FL - Biscayne Bay, Human remains in bag, Jun'09 - Osben Laparra

A bicyclist spotted a suspicious bag floating in the water off Pelican Harbor Wednesday morning and called police.

Inside the plastic bag, officials say, were human remains.

The find touched off an hours-long search by divers and police boats in the calm waters for additional remains. About 12:30 p.m., a second bag was found in the water at 7899 NE Bayshore Ct.

''Clearly, we believe this is related to a homicide,'' said Officer Jeff Giordano, a Miami police spokesman.

''We're confident we'll be able to identify the remains,'' he said.

Police are still trying to confirm the body parts belong to the same person.
