He was found in a dirt pile at a construction site. The Namus description says the site was at '156th and Griffin' but I can't find that street on google. His body was wrapped up in a red tent and garbage bag. His legs were tied with socks and metal wire.
He had been dead about 3 months and is listed as skeletal. Head not recovered. The description does however say his hair was slightly curly.
All we know about his appearance is that he was estimated 5'6. His race couldn't be determined, nor could hair and eye.

NAMUS
Does anyone have his rule-outs?

So he was moved.....hmmm. There must have been evidence at both sites for them to know that? Do they have their suspicions about who he is and who murdered him?

FD BY CONSTRUCTION WORKER IN A DIRT PILE THAT HAD BEEN MOVED FROM BONAVENTURE SITE TO SITE AT 156TH AND GRIFFIN......

When I put Bonaventure site Broward County I get this company which is in Weston, FL which didn't come into being until 1996. Prior to that, this area was the Indian Trace Community Development District.

he Bonaventure Development District is a dependent special district of the City of Weston. The general purpose of the Bonaventure Development District is to provide for rights-of-way management, stormwater management, capital projects, and debt service.

Griffin is SR 818 and where it intersects with I-75 is approrximately SW 156th Ave. If you google that info, the interchange is SW 160th Ave on the west side and SW 148th Ave on the east side. So my suspicion is in early 1980s this area would have been rural, undeveloped outside of ranches and the sort. This is right on the edge of the Everglades also.

I assume what they mean is that the dirt pile itself was moved from one site to another by crane, and then they found the skeleton in it.

This sounds like one of the locations because it's right in the vicinity. SR 84 becomes I-595 which become I-75. So he was found right as you're coming off Alligator Alley (I-75) and headed into Ft Lauderdale.

Ok so it must have been the SR84 construction or something like that since road work was being done. I wonder if he was a homeless man since he was wrapped in a tent.
I doubt it. His body was wrapped in various materials, the tent and garbage bags. Plus he was bound by metal wire and he wasn't wearing any actual clothes. I think it's just the killer(s) wrapped the body up in whatever they had handy.

That makes sense now that I read that sentence again. I wonder if the body broke apart during the process of moving and scooping dirt. That could be one reason the head was not found. Or the killer decapitated him and left the head somewhere else.

Absolutely. I think it's very likely the head was severed by crane.
Btw, thank you so much for your interest in such a forgotten case, it means a lot.
