According to this article, Chad's Mom says he was not business partners with Caylen Deller. He had recently ended his dating relationship with her.

Release from Putnam County Sheriff:
TIP LEADS DETECTIVES TO DECEASED PERSON IN HASTINGS
Oct. 29, 2024

Yesterday afternoon detectives investigating a tip in the Chad Mullen missing person case began searching a property at 852 Federal Point Road in Hastings about a quarter-mile from the Putnam County line. Due to the amount of recently moved dirt on the property, detectives along with forensics from St. Johns Sheriff’s Office, FDLE and the District 23 Medical Examiner’s Office began to search, dig and sift dirt from the area, gradually uncovering a body.

At this time we are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine identity of the deceased, cause and manner of death. This is a very active investigation and information will be provided as it becomes available. Because the tip originated with the Mullen case, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has lead on the investigation.
