The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate 57 year old W/F Cynthia M. Cole. Cynthia is 5’5, 117 pounds with red hair and light colored eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt, as the one in the photo posted.

Cynthia was last seen on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Jammin’ Jensen event in Downtown Jensen Beach. She drives a 2015 Gray Jeep Cherokee with Florida tag DNF89.

MARTIN COUNTY — An overnight dig at a missing woman's home ended in the tragic discovery of a body inside a septic tank, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.

Since February 24, friends, family and authorities had been looking for 57-year-old Cynthia Cole and her vehicle, a grey Jeep Cherokee. The state Medical Examiner's Office was performing an autopsy and identification for the body.

"Detectives have every reason to believe (the body) is that of Ms. Cole," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement on Facebook.

Saturday, the Sheriff's Office took Keoki Hilo Demich, 34, a handyman for Cole, into custody and charged him with second degree murder.

The handyman was found guity of failing to register with the DMV as a sex offender in St. Lucie Circuit Court a few years ago. LouAnn Linekin, Cole’s friend, alerted the sheriff’s office that Cole was missing...

“The victim was not in the home and it appeared she had not been home for some time,” the arrest affidavit says.

Linekin pointed law enforcement to Demich, Cole’s handyman, according to the report. Demich allegedly told Linekin that Cole was supposed to pick him up on Feb. 26, but she never showed up.

Cellphone records showed that Cole sent Demich a text around 2:40 a.m. on Feb. 25 saying, “Hey key, sent you some money to finish the house off I’ll call you Saturday morning when I’m on my way.”

On March 4, investigators found Cole’s car in a parking lot in Stuart, Fla., walking distance from Demich’s home,

A subpoena for Demich’s Lyft account also showed that he ordered a car to Cole’s home around 7 p.m. on Feb. 24, the day she was last reported seen, according to the report.

After finding the car, detectives returned to Cole’s house to do another search and found the body of an undressed White woman in the septic tank, the affidavit says.

Horrific. I hope she passed out and never knew what happened to her. I hope her friends and loved ones can recover from this.

Looking at the timeline in this article, it appears he was waiting for her and attacked her when she got home on the 24th, then hours later used her phone to send himself $500, and set up a false meeting the next day.

So the motive appears to be $500 and whatever psychological gratification he got out of treating his 'long term employer' that way.
