Thomasville woman missing, vehicle found in Tallahassee

[...]

The Thomasville Police Department says Shirey's car was found this morning in Tallahassee's Frenchtown neighborhood. Her personal belongings were still inside.

Tallahassee Police roped off a section of Georgia Street near Carter Howell Strong Park for nearly three hours as they collected evidence and took photographs of the burgundy-colored Honda. It had a Georgia tag on the back and a custom tag on the front that said "Ms. D" with red roses.

Several K-9 teams also scoured the area. One K-9 team searched the yard of what appears to be an abandoned house across the street and another K-9 team circled the holding pond nearby.

Shirey resides in Thomasville and officials say she has no known relatives in the Tallahassee area.

Search intensifies for missing Thomasville woman
Officers say no one answered the door at Shirey's home on Glenwood Drive Monday, but her car was in the driveway. When officers returned Tuesday morning, her vehicle was gone.

This sounds like they did a well checkup on Monday, no answer and went back Tuesday. The car being there Monday but not Tuesday makes me think someone was in that house with her but didn't answer the door, that person took off in her car and by Tuesday morning when the police came back to get inside, car was missing. This is IMO but I agree it's not sounding very good. I'm glad they are searching closer to her home.

This is confusing, she is missing for Georgia but the car was found in FL? Am I getting this right?

It sounds to me as if he stole a car from a woman he assaulted in Sherwood Loop, GA (not Deanna), then drove to Florida with the car where he assaulted/murdered/raped/robbed Deanna.

This part makes me wonder if a third women comes into the game:
Carter is also wanted for questioning in a recent missing person case and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Her family is saying she went missing for Georgia Sun/Mon but the car was found in FL Tuesday. MSM statements confuse me.

Family of missing 70-year-old woman speaks out
"The feeling we are experiencing is sickening, we are all robbed with fear and worry. You see things on the news and think that would never happen to someone you know and love. I pray that this doesn't happen to any other family," said Abiusi. "I would not want anyone to go through the pain and suffering that we are right now and looking for our mom."

The suspect is believed to still be in Ochlochnee, a small town near Thomasville. Residents of that area are all on guard. I read that he held a family of 3 hostage for a short while, but didn't harm any of them...just very frightened. One question is why is this man not still locked up somewhere? He raped a child in 2001, and sexually assaulted an adult in 2017.
