*An MDSO spokesperson said “multiple shooters” are believed to have fired into the SUV, killing the woman and critically wounding an 11-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy. The girl remains in a coma.
“I don’t think words can describe how I feel,” Brown’s mother, Fannie Marshall, told Local 10 News. “I can tell you it ripped my heart out.”

Brown was a decorated Transportation Security Administration agent and died at the hospital.
“We are just going to keep praying and trusting in God that he’s going to bring all of us through this,” she said. "She’s not walking through that door so I have to cope with my granddaughters, trying to help them and still praying for the one that’s in the hospital, Reagan, but with my faith in God, trust in God, I will get through this one too."

According to MDSO's preliminary investigation, Brown and the children were inside the SUV when "several subjects" approached the vehicle and opened fire, striking all three of them, before fleeing the area.
