An employee of the Florida Department of Children & Families.

Curious to know how she fared at her job? I am guessing there were plenty of warning signs.

This one is local to me. So painful to read about this. This poor girl suffered so much at the hands of someone who was supposed to protect her. MOO

“As bad as that is, it only gets worse,” Sheriff Paul Blackman said in a statement. “The girl, who was nude except for a diaper, had clearly been severely abused. She was extremely emaciated and obviously malnourished. Her body was covered in wounds in all stages of healing, including open lacerations that were clearly recently suffered.”

“That someone whose job it was to look after the welfare of children could treat their own child in this manner is simply beyond belief,” Blackman said.

"While her child lay dead on the floor, the suspect had clearly used pool chlorine in an effort to destroy evidence in the garage before calling 911," Sheriff Blackman said. "This is one of the most disturbing crime scenes I have encountered in more than 30 years of law enforcement. There are no words I can say that can truly convey the nightmare that this child’s life must have been. Parents have a duty to love their children and make sure no harm comes their way. To see a child treated this way is not only heartbreaking, it is infuriating. What makes it even more appalling is that the suspect is a former employee of not only the Department of Children and Families but also worked as guardian ad-litem. That someone whose job it was to look after the welfare of children could treat their own child in this manner is simply beyond belief."
Former DCF employee accused of abusing, killing adopted daughter in Sebring: ‘Horrific crime’

Detectives said evidence from the home suggests she had been restrained in the garage, monitored by a security camera, and subjected to prolonged mistreatment.
Florida woman charged with murder, abuse in death of adopted daughter, 13

There were four other minor children in that home. Mack delayed reporting the daughter's death for hours so that she could drive those four other children away from the scene of her crime in an attempt IMO to secure them away from LE and the investigation into the death of this poor girl.

I wonder if they too were abused or if this adopted teen was the scapegoat and they all watched the abuse thinking better her than me.

The thought that this woman once was tasked by the state to determine what is best for at risk children should terrify everyone. JMO

Another horror for another child. At least the mother is under arrest.
