Teen facing attempted murder charges because closed Checkers would not serve him, cops say

A teenager is facing two charges of attempted murder after he opened fire on employees when denied late-night fast food at a Checkers restaurant in Pembroke Park, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Albert Humberto Ponce, 17, of Hialeah Gardens, was arrested Thursday on a warrant and was charged as an adult by the Broward State Attorney’s Office, court records show.

Besides the two counts of second-degree attempted murder, Ponce is also charged with firing a gun from a vehicle and being a delinquent with a firearm. He is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond, records show.
