Details of Disappearance

Israel owned Hanson Trailer Storage in the 7500 block of north 72nd Avenue in Pinellas Park, Florida. His residence was adjacent to the business. Israel was last seen at approximately 12:00 p.m. on December 8, 1996. A repairman reported that he was inside his home at the time.

Israel has never been heard from again. His car was left behind, parked in the driveway. His adult daughter, his only child, reported him as a missing person the same day he was last seen. Authorities initially believed that Israel became disoriented and wandered away from his house. His family members said that he was in good mental and physical condition in 1996. There was no sign of a struggle at his residence.

Investigators learned that Israel evicted his former tenant, Edward William Vanderbilt, for non-payment of rent prior to his disappearance. Israel's case was reclassified as a homicide after authorities announced the discovery of a bloodstained piece of carpeting inside his home.

Prior to his disappearance, Israel usually drove everywhere, even for very short trips. He had lived in Florida for thirty years prior to 1996 and during that time had never spent a night away from his home, and usually returned to his residence by nightfall.

There have not been any arrests in connection with Israel's disappearance, which remains unsolved.

And in this case, isn't it possible that the debtor tenant, Edward William Vanderbilt, took revenge for being evicted? I'm sure I hope he was alone, entered the house with Harry's permission, and attacked him from behind? Then he put him in a car, never to be seen again. Didn't the police interview him? If they have the name of a suspect, aren't they looking for him? That's my first thought...
whatever it is
Rest in peace

The daughter was dating and the former tenant?

Detectives said Wednesday they have mounting evidence that suggests an 83-year-old man missing since early December may have met with foul play.

Harry Israel was reported missing Dec. 8 by his daughter, Onalee Israel of Brooksville. A handyman doing repairs on Israel's house at 7500 72nd Ave. N saw him Dec. 7.

No one has seen him since.

Investigators already have spoken to several people, including the man Onalee Israel is dating and a man who was a tenant of Israel's. They said they would like to speak to both men and Ms. Israel again, said Pinellas sheriff's Sgt. Greg Tita.

Former tenant was convicted of slaying in 1978. BF left bloody foot print.
yes, both good suspects.

The man Ms. Israel is dating may be responsible for a bloody footprint found on Israel's property, and the tenant was convicted in a 1978 slaying, Tita said.
