More than a year later, Niceville police are still searching for missing teen

The Niceville Police Department are still searching for a teenager who has been missing for more than a year.

Jacob Lyon was last seen on November 2, 2015 wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

Jacob is 5'8" and has a scar on his chin.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Niceville Police Department.

His parents say he went missing right after his release from a mental hospital and an overdose. The Walton County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) said they were acting on a fresh tip that his body could be hidden in a field.

I see different missing dates of March 2016 and November 2015. Either he was located and went missing again or he is transient. Jacob is still missing5 years, it appears by the Facebook pages for him. Yet not much recent info.

WKRG | Niceville Police Department continuing search for man who went missing in 2015

Lyon was last seen on Nov. 2, 2015, in Niceville. His family and acquaintances have had no contact with him since. At the time he went missing, he was 19 years old, 5’8” tall, and weighed roughly 135 pounds. Lyon has hazel eyes and brown hair. He has a scar on the left side of his chin and has a speech impediment with “R’s”. He also had an injury to his left arm that causes him to not be able to fully extend it.

It is a shame they don't list a specific address where he went missing from. Nor do they mention whether he left on foot, via bus, a vehicle, a bicycle, etc. It is as if he just went Poof!

I'm from Niceville and have not heard of this case! Wondering how on earth I missed this. Or it's possible in my old age I am forgetting things that I once knew...

Details of Disappearance:
Lyon didn't have a permanent address and was staying with various relatives in Mossey Head and Niceville, Florida at the time of his disappearance. He was having problems and in October 2015 he was involuntarily committed to a hospital for psychiatric care.

Lyon was last seen in Niceville on November 2, 2015. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.

Respectfully, there is one "John Doe" in Florida that I found when I put his basic stats into NamUs. Located in 2022. A 13-20 year-old, located in Miramar Beach. Seems unlikely to be him, but here's the link:

Deformities: Speech impediment with 'R's'
Scars And Marks: Scar on the left side of his chin.
Skeletal Information: Right arm broken. Didn't complete physical therapy consequently arm doesn't fully extend. Medical Records for this injury from Bluewater Orthopedics,PA (850-897-8081) are in the NPD case file.

His mom posted stating two teachers from the high school reported to have seen him in March 2016, but she had not had contact with him since October 2015.

They state he went missing from Niceville - the closest bus station is about 12 miles away. I would hope if someone gave him a ride to the station, they would come forward but there hasn’t been anything on that. I know you shouldn’t make assumptions, but it’s likely that he walked or biked. The part that really sucks is Niceville is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Air Force base reservation.
