A woman has been arrested on a drunk driving charge after police said she struck her boyfriend on his motorcycle with her SUV as he was heading home to see his wife.

Arizbet Vazques Contreras, 25, was arrested on Monday in Lake County, Florida and charged with manslaughter DUI in the April 1, 2018 collision that killed 37-year-old Jason Sasser.

Contreras told investigators that Sasser was her boyfriend, and that the pair had just had drinks in a nearby bar and left separately before the crash, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Sasser had just texted his wife that he was on his way home and would be there in 30 minutes. She has said she never knew about her husband's alleged affair.

Contreras is charged with DUI/manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving.

She turned herself in to the Lake County Jail on Monday and was released an hour later after posting $12,500 bond. She could not be reached for comment.

If convicted, Contreras faces a sentence of four to 15 years in prison.

I feel so sorry for the wife. Your husband being killed and finding out he was having an affair. There must be so many mixed feelings. I hate cheaters, but he didn't deserve to have his life cut short like that. RIP Jason. Don't drink and drive. There's always another way home.
