After spending the holiday without an important family member, a Lakewood Ranch father and his son’s girlfriend brought a search team together to look for 27-year-old Jimmy Butler.

Butler had returned from the St. Pete Beach Bike Fest on Saturday, but went back to St. Petersburg that night to meet up with his girlfriend. They drove home separately. Butler has been missing since around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to his father, [RB].

The shared location on his iPhone last showed Jimmy Butler was driving south on Gulf Boulevard heading home to Lakewood Ranch. His phone and bank accounts have had no activity since, his family said in a Facebook post.

He was last seen wearing a black biker jacket with red trim driving a white white 2002 Honda F41 motorcycle.

Family, friends organize search for missing motorcyclist

Ayers said that, after a few drinks, she tried to convince Jimmy to get in her car but he decided to ride his white Honda motorcycle home instead.

I live a just a few miles away and work really close to where the fest was. There is 2 drawbridges over the bay and to get back to manatee county he would go over the skyway toll bridge.

His girlfriend, [KA], said after a few drinks at Mermaids Gentlemen’s Club on S. Pete Beach. She tried to convince Butler not to drive away on his white 2002 Honda F-41 motorcycle. When he insisted on driving, she said they drove different routes back home to Lakewood Ranch.

“I just track him on his location,” [KA] said. “We have IPhone to IPhone, and I’m seeing him coming down Gulf Boulevard, and I’m like he’s fine.”

She said Butler took off down Gulf Boulevard and hasn’t been heard from since. Now nearly a week after his disappearance, it’s the same place [KA] says they’ve been looking, on foot, and by helicopter. She said they’re considering all possibilities.

I am local also and that was my first fear. Sadly, I do think they will find his bike in the water. They will be lucky to find him with the tides. I hope I’m wrong. MOO
and not to mention last week all week we had riptide warnings he wont be found close if he is in that water. His phone Pinged last at 54S and US19 which sould have been right as he would enter 75?

It’s surprising how easy it is to land in the water. It happens quite a bit.
