Kaycee sometimes went by Kay Cee, right? Makes me wonder about what her proper name is and how many variations she uses, and her mom's name's listed as Betty (saw it on the image of a poster the family had up), so I would guess Elizabeth. There's a Georgia Doe whose reproduction jmo doesn't look a lot like Kaycee, but enough where I am still wondering because the Doe had a ring with initials "KES." IF Elizabeth was her mother's name, that could be Kaycee's middle name, so "KE." And IF Kaycee was divorcing because she'd gotten involved with someone else, or maybe she were married prior to the marriage that was current at the time of her disappearance, that could be the S. This Doe's 19-40yo, 5'1" found in Bloomingdale GA 1989 and they have no idea how long she was there. No idea if that is a homicide, but if it was, whoever left her there left her with what looks to be a pretty expensive ring, so I don't think theft was any kind of motive.
Looking at Doe Network, for a follow-up, this was definitely a homicide with this Doe, and very personal. Pasting:
The victim's skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area by Interstate 16 in Bloomingdale, GA in March 1989. There were 22 rounds from a .38 caliber gun (requiring the weapon to be reloaded three times) in a circular pattern around the remains, leading investigators to believe the murder was "personal." One bullet had shattered one of her kneecaps. Her official cause of death remains undetermined, but the case is considered as a homicide. She is not believed to be from the local area.
So not from the area. And they're saying Doe's hair naturally dark but dyed lighter, hmm. With expensive ring, looks like it may be along the lines of a wedding ring. And a rage killing, by the sounds of it. Very ghastly, and very strange. Namus isn't listing any guess re: time of death, but Doe Network has a range later than the 1983 (estimating earliest 1986). Probably not Kaycee, but wondering nonetheless. And making me wonder even more is the ring, are they sure that KES? It looks like the K might loop into a separate little C.
