snip

I don't know if the neighbor could be criminally charged. But, I think civilly he could be. (Just my opinion.)

I totally agree.

Jolynna,
Thank you for the correction.
I swear I read the story and still got it wrong.
BTW- you made an excellent post.

Thank you.

This is a case that really gets to me. The 911 call from the daughter is almost unbearable.

And Meloney the singer is a contradiction to Meloney the premeditating killer. Her songs are sensitive, vulnerable and beautiful. I think she is talented.

Which doesn't make what she did less evil.

My husband goes to Kevin's place of work twice week. Everyone there is devastated by his tragic death and not only that but the way his wife is trying to victimize him all over again.

His kids know the truth and are so traumatized by losing their father and knowing their own mother did it. Meloney just did not want this divorce and she was going to make sure he never made it to Divorce Day. He died still legally connected to her.

He began to tell his coworkers about a year ago that his wife had began to act odd with bouts of uncontrollable rage and even paranoia. Dreaming up the most ridiculous things.

She did nothing but plot out this murder in a cold premeditated fashion and LE isn't buying any of it.

Who knows maybe she saw the Winkler case and felt she could work the system by the "abuse excuse" without having to back any of it up with evidence but she forgot she doesn't live in TN but in FL where they have no sympathy for cold blooded murderers who calculate and plan out their crimes........be it male or female.

Autumn was 13 and wanted to live with her father not her mother and the son who is almost 20 is very close to his father also.

His coworkers worried about his safety and told him to be careful. Kevin always said "she wouldn't do that to the children." It is obvious she did not care about her children and he was wrong.......dead wrong.

imoo

OceanBlue- I am very sorry that you/your hubby are personally affected by this senseless crime. I pray for his children that they find peace and have the strength to deal with what their mother did- Thank you for sharing a more personal side to this poor man. :)

Excellent article Jolynna.
Man, did this statement clear things up for me.
Also, an interview with Ms. Jackson’s 16-year-old son revealed the mother had made statements before about shooting her husband and may have planned the murder.

Premeditated along with this. She shot him 7 times.
An autopsy showed Mr. Jackson had been shot once in the chest, five times in the back and once in the back of the head.

This is an especially good article about this case. It has details that are not included elsewhere:

Deputy Brannan’s report states the young man said the week before the incident his mother told him he should shoot Mr. Jackson if he had the opportunity.... so not enough to kill your husband and take away your daughters father but to ask your child to commit murder! i will never understand how people can hate their ex more than they love their kids.

btw jolynna are you local on this story?

I'm not local to the story.

But, I was able to find Meloney Jackson's myspace and through her friend's links other places on the web Meloney had posted. She even wrote stories for other blogs promoting her fragrances and potions.

I have gotten very caught up in the story because Meloney Jackson is such a perfect example of a book you can't judge by its cover. (At least not the cover she put online.)

I have a hard time reconciling her voice and songs with the person who made her daughter sob to the 911 dispatcher. I look at the earlier pictures of that woman and she was so cute and looks so happy. She writes about her favorite smell being her daughter's hair. (I loved the smell of my children's hair, so I can relate.)

I felt like I knew this woman from her writing and songs. But, I didn't.

You would have to be very evil to try to get your son to kill someone.

I wanted to give an update on this case for anyone who had followed it last year.

My husband just returned from Jacksonville, Florida and said that Kevin's employer told him that Meloney Jackson's trial has been held.

Meloney Jackson was convicted of First Degree Murder in the death of her husband, Kevin. I believe the verdict came in yesterday. Both Kevin's step son and his own daughter testified against their mother.

This was a truly tragic case. Kevin was one day away from being free of this woman so he could go on with his life and a new beginning being a single dad to his daughter that he loved with every ounce of his being.

His daughter lives with Kevin's mother and dad.

The sentencing phase is to be held at a later date.

Rest in peace Kevin. You were a good man that crossed paths with a very diabolical evil woman.

This little girl is in my prayers. How selfish can you be to leave your child with no parents to raise her?

Does anyone have valid links to this story? I was a friend of Meloney's but lost touch when I moved to South Carolina in 2006. I just found out, and this doesn't sound like my friend at all. I need more info, any assistance would be welcomed.
