Margate police are asking for help in finding a 16-year-old girl who left her home Thursday and is now missing. They want to find her fast — she has depression and a history of suicidal tendencies, police said.

Lakeisha Scott left her Broward County home around 10:45 p.m. and was likely picked up by a vehicle, police said. The teenager lives in the 6500 block of Northwest First Court.

Police say she is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build. They say she has brown eyes and short brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray pant and black sandals. Her hair was in a short ponytail.

Oh my, I just found an article to help us understand Lakeisha and her situation. This isn’t the first time she has run away. She ran away and was recovered two days later on Jan 5 last month. Surely, LE and parents have searched last location she was found. I was absolutely exasperated yesterday early morning. One quick search found six missing teens. Some runaways, some unknown, one abduction, etc. It terrifies me about all the suicides lately. Teens are so vulnerable. Not only teens, but it is evident suicides are rising in our population. I hope to God the right people are paying attention to this dangerous trend. Covid-19, I abhor you.

Police search for endangered 16-year-old missing out of Margate
According to authorities, Lakeisha Scott left her home in the 6500 block of Northwest First Court between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday, but officers are unsure whether she left on foot or in a car.

Police said Lakeisha has a history of being hospitalized under the Baker Act and has suicidal tendencies. She suffers from severe depression and did not take her medication with her, authorities said.

Police did not disclose where Lakeisha had been during the time she was away from home, but said that she “was recovered safely.”

Unable to find an update to Lakeisha’s most recent disappearance. It’s quite alarming, especially after seeing that she ran away after leaving such a disturbing note right before this last time.
I hope she is safe somewhere and we’re just unable to find an update.
