Exactly. I haven't done a deep dive on this dude but if he is telling the truth then there are other unsolved murders that should be checked out!

Is this him? Holy horror's!

''That’s nine murders Townson is now admitting to, including the one that landed him in prison in 2007. That one involved a childhood friend he beat to death in her home in Titusville, Florida, leaving her buried under her children’s clothes and blankets.

Most of his victims, though, were strangers, he said.

He mapped out where his murders happened — Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, and two women in Memphis.

Tuesday at 5 p.m. on WREG, Townson tell us what he remembers about those Memphis murders. One woman has been identified, and you’ll hear from her family. The other woman hasn’t been identified. We’ll reveal specific details that could help loved ones get some closure, and hear this confessed serial killer’s response when we ask him if he’s sorry. That’s coming up tomorrow at 5 pm. ''

I wouldn't have recognized him except for the picture of his prison card. Article states he took off his glasses because they were broken in a fight he was involved in that morning.

My question is (and I haven't looked yet) this interview was from 2019, who else if anyone has been connected to this guy?

He also admitted to the murder of Allean Michelle Branch in 1993. Her family waited 25 years for closure.
"Townson doesn’t know what triggered him. He just knows what he did. He said he may have hit her once or twice, then grabbed her around the neck."

I wonder how authorities connected Townson to Linda Little. It doesn't sound, in his confessions, that he did that much to conceal his victims.

Well, I suspect there will be many more families gaining closure soon. In jail since 2007, interviewed in 2019 and just now receiving some answers. Sounds like solid police work to make sure they had the right guy before telling the loved ones.
I wonder if there really are 9 people he murdered. The investigative reports certainly point to 4. Hopefully he continues to talk. Like he said he is already serving a life sentence and isn't likely to be going anywhere.

My guess is genetic geneology because if they had entered him into CODIS, I think, if I understand that process correctly, they would have had a hit a while back.

''Townson confessed to Little’s killing in 2020 after he “found God” and was transferred to a correctional facility in Volusia County, where Daytona Beach is located, Young said.

He told investigators that his father and grandfather sexually abused him as a child, Young said. He blamed his mother and other women in his life for not protecting him, Young said, adding: "As a result, he developed a hatred for women."

''Little's body has not been found, Dinardi said. He declined to provide additional details about the killing or the investigation but said there were details Townson shared that led authorities to believe the confession was legitimate.''

Interesting. I wonder if the additional details included the bike which was also never found.

Details of Disappearance

Little was last seen leaving a 7-11 convenience store near the beachfront in Daytona Beach, Florida after 2:00 a.m. on October 11, 1991. She was riding blue and rust-colored Murray beach cruiser bicycle. She is believed to have been on her way to her beachside apartment at the time. She has never been heard from again.
Little worked as a waitress at the Chart House on South Beach Street (now International Speedway Boulevard) when she went missing. After her shift on the day of her disappearance, she went to Matey's Brig, a bar, with friends and told them she planned to visit various places in Florida with her boyfriend that weekend. She had a map and showed her friends the locations where she planned to go.
Little stayed at the bar until 2:00 a.m., then went to the 7-11 near her home, bought a donut and some chocolate milk, and disappeared afterwards. She was reported missing after she didn't show up for work the next day and didn't call her employer, which is uncharacteristic of her behavior.
She normally carried makeup and a change of clothes everywhere she went. Her apartment was found undisturbed after her disappearance with all her belongings inside.
Investigators subsequently learned that Little and her boyfriend were not, in fact, going on a weekend trip. They had planned the vacation for their first anniversary, but the boyfriend canceled on the afternoon of her disappearance because he had decided to go fishing instead. It's unclear why Little told her friends the trip was still on.
After her disappearance, her family discovered her boyfriend was married. They don't believe Little knew about this, as they don't think she would have knowingly dated a married man. The boyfriend hasn't been named as a suspect or person of interest in her disappearance.
In 1995, a man called one of Little's relatives and said he met Little in North Carolina and she'd told him to call her at that number. He hung up after refusing to give his name, and never called back.
In October 2022, Michael S. Towson, who was already serving life in prison for another woman's murder, was charged with first-degree murder in Little's case. A photo of Towson is posted with this case summary. He is awaiting trial, but little information has been released about the case again him.
Little is originally from North Carolina. She had lived in Florida for two years prior to 1991. She left behind an adult son. Foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved.

During a press conference Tuesday, Wanda Hinson thanked the man police described as a suspected serial killer and said confessed to killing her sister for giving the family closure 31 years later.
"I know this is crazy but I really want to thank Townson for coming out and letting the families know what happened to our family member," Hinson said. "I've forgiven him."
She said that her nephew, Little's son, was angry but she believed "over time" he, too, would forgive Townson.

Dinardi was asked whether the police would call Townson a "suspected serial killer."
"I think that would be accurate, yes," Dinardi said.
Dinardi said Little's case was the only murder linked to Townson in Volusia County.
But Dinardi said Townson was being investigated in another murder in Central Florida

A man already imprisoned in Florida for another killing pleaded guilty Tuesday to the long-unsolved 1991 slaying of a woman he met at a bar.

Michael Townson, 53, was sentenced by a judge to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years, state prosecutors said in a news release.

Townson admitted striking and fatally choking Linda Lois Little after meeting her at a Daytona Beach nightspot in October 1991. Little's body was never found.

He was jailed for another murder and asked to speak to detectives. He then confessed this murder to them. They know that it is a legitimate confession because he provided details that were never made public... but the case is still not resolved... not because he confessed is it resolved... I believe that it should not even be buried... it could be that it was dismembered and distributed into various parts and the boyfriend must have taken part in this murder. Maybe she found out that he was married and she reacted badly and he murdered her...
either way
rest in peace Linda
